Hospital da Luz Lisboa Gynaecologist Performs Live Surgery in International Course
Filipa Osório, gynaecologist from Hospital da Luz Lisboa, was one of the invited speakers and performed live streamed surgeries during the course Special Interest Group on Reproductive Surgery of the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology, which took place between 28-30 March, at the European Academy of Gynaecological Surgery and at the Heilig Hart Hospital, in Leuven, Belgium.
The Hospital da Luz Lisboa gynaecologist performed a laparoscopic surgery in a 38-year-old female patient with infertility and several pelvic adhesions. The intervention counted with the participation of Belgian surgeons Stephan Gordts and Sylvie Gordts. Filipa Osório also monitored the course’s practical sessions.
Filipa Osório is a specialist in Gynaecology and Obstetrics since 2009, dedicated in particular to minimally invasive gynaecologic surgery (laparoscopy and hysteroscopy), in areas such as endometriosis, myomas, pelvic floor reconstruction, endometrial pathology and infertility surgery.
She has already performed several live streamed surgeries from Hospital da Luz Lisboa, namely cases of profound endometriosis surgery, for the First Annual Middle East Society for Gynaecologic Endoscopy (MESGE) Congress / Turkish Society of Gynaecologic Endoscopy (TSGE), which took place in Antalya, in 2013, for the 42th Global Congress on Minimally Invasive Gynaecology, held in Washington, in 2013, for the 2nd Annual Middle East Society for Gynaecologic Endoscopy (MESGE) Congress / International Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy, held in Dubai, in 2014, and for the 3rd Annual Middle East Society for Gynaecologic Endoscopy (MESGE) Congress, which took place in Antalya, in 2015. She also performed international surgeries at the 31st Annual Meeting of the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE), in Lisbon, for the 24th Annual Congress of the European Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy (ESGE), in 2015, and for the 32nd Annual Meeting of ESHRE, in Helsinki, Finland, in 2016.
