Hospital da Luz Lisboa Partner of KickUP Sports Innovation Program

Hospital da Luz é parceiro do programa KickUP Sports Innovation

Hospital da Luz, which is part of SL Benfica Official Medical Services, is a founding partner of KickUP Sports Innovation, the first European acceleration program designed to support start-ups in the area of sports, health and well-being.

The program was presented on February 8, at Estádio da Luz, Benfica stadium, with the presence of Domingos Soares de Oliveira, Sport Lisboa e Benfica CEO, João Gonçalo Cunha, KickUP Sports Innovation co-founder, and Jorge Máximo, responsible for Sports and Information Systems of Lisbon City Council.

KickUP Sports Innovation is an international program aiming to identify, promote and accelerate the best ideas and projects for the areas of Sports Performance & Health, Fan Engagement & Entertainment, and Smart Venue & Operations.

Enrolment is available until March 12 and, after the initial stages of selection and boot camp, the start-ups will be set up at Estádio da Luz, where they will have the opportunity, with the support of partners involved including Hospital da Luz, to validate, create, develop and execute their business project, in order to reach the market faster and draw investment.
This project incubation stage starts on April 24 and ends with Demo Day on June 11.

The 10 selected start-ups will receive 10 thousand Euros of initial investment, and will have access to a network of mentors, specialists and investors, which will help reduce risks and accelerate projects’ development.

It is worth mentioning that the acceleration program was designed around a sportive approach, so that all promotors involved in the start-ups would benefit from nutrition plans, training and friendly competition, besides mindfulness sessions.

This initiative has as co-founders SL Benfica, Hospital da Luz, Sport Zone, Jazzy, Multipower, CASE, NOS and Nova SBE.
