Hospital da Luz Lisboa and Nursing College of Macau Sign Cooperation Protocol
Hospital da Luz Lisboa signed, today, a cooperation protocol with Kiang Wu Nursing College of Macau, a notorious nursing school in that territory.
The two parties agreed to develop joint activities in education and research in the area of nursing and healthcare, including the interchange of students, teachers and nursing professionals, as well as the organization of training events.
The protocol was signed by Florence Van Iat Kio, president of Kiang Wu Nursing College of Macau, Isabel Vaz, CEO of Luz Saúde and president of Hospital da Luz Lisboa Board of Directors, and Pedro Líbano Monteiro, executive director of this hospital. Also present at the ceremony, were O Tin Lin, chief of Macau Economic and Commercial Delegation in Portugal, Francisca Leite, director of Hospital da Luz Learning Health (Luz Saúde company dedicated to education, research and innovation activities) and Maria José Costa Dias, nursing diretor of Hospital da Luz Lisboa.
After signing the protocol, there was a visit to Hospital da Luz Lisboa, namely to in-patient and intensive care unit, and the guests became aware of the expansion works taking place in the adjoining terrain, which will allow the hospital to double its capacity.
The protocol signed today with Hospital da Luz Lisboa is the first one established by Kiang Wu Nursing College of Macau with a health private institution in Portugal. Founded in 1923, and associated to Kiang Wu Hospital Charitable Association, it is since then renowned for the excellent training of nursing professionals. It develops cooperation initiatives with other Chinese institutions and also with countries such as Singapore, Thailand, the United States and the United Kingdom.
