Kris Maes is a robotic training expert of the ORSI
Kris Maes, urologist and coordinator of the Center for Robotics and Minimally Invasive Surgery at the Hospital da Luz was recently appointed as a robotic training expert of ORSI (OLV Robotic Surgery Vattikuti Institute). Thus, Kris Maes joined the team qualified to perform robotic surgery training in this institution, that with this nomination recognizes his thorough knowledge as a tutor in the field of minimally invasive surgery.
The ORSI is an internationally recognized training center for robotic surgery in various specialty areas. Its mission is to pass on experience and expertise in the field of robotic surgery to physicians and their teams via result oriented training.
The training team of ORSI has an extensive experience in robotic surgery, performing about 600 training programmes per year. It developed and perfected several techniques in the areas of urology, cardiovascular and gynecological robotic surgery. ORSI is recognized as a training center by the European Association of Urology.
This center is directed by the urologist Alexandre Mottrie, who is also president of the European Robotic Urology Society.
