His name is Afonso. He was born at 11:32 am on December 27, 2025. The baby and mother are doing well. The father and the whole family are very happy. And so are we! Afonso is our 4000 th baby. That's right: the maternity ward at Hospital da Luz Lisboa has broken another record, and 2025 will be written in our history because of Afonso . Four thousand babies were born in our maternity ward in just one year. And 2025 isn't even over yet! The team that delivered Afonso didn't want to let the moment pass and marked this record on behalf of all the professionals at the maternity ward, on behalf of Hospital da Luz Lisboa, and everyone who made it possible for us to get here. Congratulations! Afonso's delivery team included Élia Fernandes (obstetrician), Cristina Ferreira (support obstetrician), Ana Pinto and Joana Ventura (nurses), Rodrigo Ferreira (anesthesiologist), and Bruno Cardoso (neonatologist). They were in the delivery room. But many others were outside. And today is the day to pay a very special tribute to them.
