Hospital da Luz Arrábida obtained the maximum rating of three stars in two clinical areas and high rating in other four areas , in the latest evaluation of Clinical Excellence by the national Health Regulatory Authority (ERS), in the context of the SINAS program (National System of Evaluation in Health). SINAS is an evaluation system of global quality in healthcare providing establishments, with volunteer participation. This report refers to the period between the 1 st July 2018 and the 30 th June 2019. The HL Arrábida obtained the maximum rating (three stars) in the areas of Gynaecology (Hysterectomy) and Orthopaedics (Total Hip and Knee Arthroplasty) . This rating is assigned when the results are higher to the average of the totality of healthcare providers englobed in the evaluation (156 healthcare providers). It also obtained a high rating (two stars, corresponding to results above the average in terms of clinical excellence) in four other areas: Delivery and Prenatal Care, Colon Surgery, Myocardial Revascularization Surgery and Heart Valve Surgery, and other Non-coronary Cardiac Surgery. Other units of Hospital da Luz network with maximum and high ratings Four other units of Hospital da Luz network also submitted themselves to the ERS evaluation and all obtained the maximum rating of clinical excellence in several areas, namely Hospital da Luz Aveiro, Hospital da Luz Póvoa de Varzim and Hospital da Luz Setúbal. Hospital da Luz Lisboa is actually one of the two hospitals in the country with more clinical areas recognized with the maximum excellence rating : six (a number only equalled by Hospital de Braga).
