When you come home after going out or returning from a day of work, there are some basic measures you should take to protect yourself and your family or other people you live with. In order to do that, you need to organize the entry of the house and observe a few rules. Establish different zones: dirty, intermediate and clean Establish a space at the entry of your home, near the front door, where we can take out your coat, leave the house / car keys, take off and put away your shoes (which soles should be disinfected). It doesn’t need to be a big space, only large enough to be organized in a “dirty zone”, an “intermediate zone” and a “clean zone”. In the “dirty zone”, always keep a cloth / rug on the floor, a hanger to hang your bag and coat, a trash can with pedal, a bottle of disinfectant or diluted bleach (20 ml / 980 ml) and a disposable paper roll. For more comfort and easiness of the operations to undertake, you may also have a chair there. The floor cloth / rug should be washed. In the “intermediate zone”, always keep alcoholic gel at hand (placed on a bench or in a small cabinet). In the “clean zone”, keep your slippers or other footwear to use around the house. What to do in each zone In the “dirty zone”, hang your bag and coat on the hanger. On the cloth / rug on the floor, clean the soles of your shoes with disinfectant / diluted bleach using the disposable paper (to be thrown in the trash can, where the trash bag should be closed and put inside another bag, also closed). Keep your shoes in this zone or on the cloth / rug. In the “intermediate zone”, disinfect your hands with alcoholic gel. In the “clean zone”, put on your slippers or other footwear you only use at home. What about the dog If you have a dog, you should also sanitize the animal’s paws every time you take him out to the street. Use a cloth or wipes with disinfectant gel or wash your dog’s paws with water and blue and white soap. Do not use alcohol or bleach to sanitize the dog’s paws.
