Our memory is much more complex than that of a computer. Although a computer has an enormous storage capacity and has immediate access to the information in its memory, without any interference, the way it processes that information is very different from what our brain does. A computer clearly has more storage capacity, more speed, has no loss of productivity and is not influenced by external factors, as is the case with our brain. However, our capacity for integrating information or processing is enormous, even equivalent to that of a supercomputer . The human brain has different types of memory , for example: Episodic or autobiographical event memory , which is the memory that we can associate with a given event; Memory of procedures , such as walking, for which we are not aware of the moment when we acquire these skills; Explicit or declarative memory , which can be declared, such as names, facts, and events, and which can be episodic if associated with events. But, perhaps, the main difference between our memory and that of a computer is the way our emotions modulate our learning and influence our decisions. If an event is very important, it tends to be recorded in much more detail than if it is a less relevant fact. On the other hand, all our decisions are always compared with our previous experience and weighted based on our emotions and the emotions of others that we can identify. So, the way our brain relates to the environment in which we live, especially with other living beings, is much more complex than that of a computer. In addition, unlike a computer, the human being has an awareness of himself, that feeling of “soul”, of being a living being and of our position in the environment. And this modulates all of our brain functions, including our memory. And between the female brain and the male brain, are there differences? There are some differences between the female brain and the male brain. For example, women use their brains in a more global and integrated way and tend to be more emotional and social. For their part, men can be more rational and pragmatic and, in some circumstances, more effective and with more facility in specific tasks, such as mathematics. However, almost all literature focuses on the differences between the female and the male brain, but the similarities are far superior to the differences. For example, the male brain is larger than the female brain. However, if we correct for body size, as men are generally larger than women, the size of the brain is similar.
