A team of gynecological surgery at Hospital da Luz Lisboa, led by Filipa Osório , won the first prize in the category of best unedited video in the 7th Edition of the ‘Winners Meeting’, organized by MIS Academy. This meeting, held via web on October 10, brought together teams of specialists in laparoscopic surgery from hospitals on all continents, who demonstrate unedited gynecological surgeries and clinical presentations and surgical procedures, and showed videos of surgeries already performed, having in the end a winner was chosen for each of these categories. The Portuguese team presented a video of a vaginal dome suture performed during a laparoscopic hysterectomy in a patient with endometriosis. In the surgery, led by Filipa Osório, the gynecologist was assisted by Sónia Barata and Marta Magro , both also from Hospital da Luz Lisboa. The ‘ Winners Meeting’ was launched with the aim of creating a platform where high quality endoscopic training and education are freely accessible to all specialists and students in this area. Today, it is an annual event for brainstorming and sharing experiences, which brings together young doctors, teachers, and surgeons from around the world with a common interest: minimally invasive surgery. This 'Winners Meeting' is organized by MIS Academy , which is dedicated to excellence in gynecological surgery and brings together the best specialists in the field, promoting innovation and good surgical practices in this specialty, investing heavily in minimally invasive surgery , according to standards of the European Academy of Gynecological Surgery.
