Nephrologist, university professor and clinical director of Hospital Beatriz Ângelo (HBA), Edgar Almeida, will preside, for the next three years, at the Portuguese Society of Nephrology . Edgar Almeida was elected this month by his peers to head the institution that, in Portugal, brings together all experts in the field of nephrology and whose mission is to prevent and cure kidney diseases and improve the quality of life of all people affected by this pathology, through the development of scientific activity within the area of nephrology. The SPN was created in 1978 and the Renal Meeting, which the Society holds annually, is one of the main events promoted in Portugal on kidney disease , bringing together national and foreign specialists and the latest in nephrology medicine.
