Filipa Osório , Hospital da Luz Lisboa gynaecologist, integrated the panel of surgeons specialized in minimally invasive surgery in cases of severe endometriosis , that participated in Endo Dubai 2020 , between 27 and 29 February. One of the days of this congress was entirely dedicated to the live follow-up of surgeries . During this “marathon”, the Hospital da Luz Lisboa specialist performed a total laparoscopic hysterectomy to a 51-year old patient. Minimally invasive surgery and the true “revolution” it has allowed in recent years in terms of treatment of these cases of endometriosis, with great benefit for women’s health, was the main theme of Endo Dubai 2020, with the participation of the world top specialists in the area. Previously, between 23 and 25 February, Filipa Osório was a guest speaker in the SHRES congress (Sudan Human Reproduction & Embryology Society) , held in Khartoum (Sudan). “Endometriosis: is there a place for endoscopy in the ART time”, was the theme of the intervention by the Portuguese physician, who also moderated the session of live-streamed surgery that highlighted the event. Specialist in minimally invasive surgery in patients with endometriosis, uterine fibroids and benign pathology, Filipa Osório provides training in endoscopic surgery at IRCAD (France), besides being co-responsible for the Accreditation Diploma Centre in laparoscopic gynaecologic surgery, in Lisbon, under the orientation of the European Gynaecologic Surgery Academy in Louvain and ESGE.
