In the start of the school year, Hospital da Luz Vila Real will offer, throughout September and ending on October 15 , free vision and hearing screening to children between 6 (until December 31, 2019) and 10 years of age. The screening – subject to previous scheduling , in accordance with the existing vacancies – will be ensured by specialized technicians . Vision and hearing assessment in children is fundamental, even in those that never revealed difficulties in that area. And prevention is always the best option . Whenever problems of vision or hearing are detected, in the scope of the screening, the technician will advise the child’s parents, namely on the necessity of medical orientation. With this initiative, Hospital da Luz Vila Real expects to contribute to better school performance in children, promoting their health and wholesome growth.
