Hospital da Luz Clínica de Odivelas guarantees all safety measures, so that parents can continue to count with our paediatricians in the follow-up of their children, in those stages where in-person consultations are important and should not be postponed. With the cold season closing in, viral infections are common in children and you should not immediately run to the emergency service, but there are situations that parents know that should be evaluated by a paediatrician, or where medical intervention is necessary, all the more in the context of COVID-19 pandemic we are living in. Therefore: In case of any COVID-19 symptom (fever, persistent cough or difficulty breathing), we advise parents to resort to the LUZ 24 phone support line ( 217 104 424 ), where each case will be adequately referred; In cases of programmed consultation with the attending paediatrician, before entering Hospital da Luz Clínica de Odivelas, a screening will be done – with body temperature measuring and symptoms evaluation – and, if necessary, the paediatrician will assess the situation in order to guarantee the safety of everyone in the unit. If it is not recommended to enter the unit, the case will be referred to another unit of Hospital da Luz network. In the waiting rooms of Hospital da Luz Clínica de Odivelas, the adequate safety distance between clients is ensured, through signalization of the waiting areas and blocking of space between chairs. Nevertheless, we ask the accompanying persons to pay special attention to children, that should be kept near them while waiting to be seen.
