Hospital da Luz Coimbra sponsors Miranda Cup 2020 , an international football 7 tournament , destined to the youngest levels and which will take place in Miranda do Corvo , between 25-28 June and 2-5 July 2020. Around a thousand participants are expected from seven different countries , aged between 10 and 13 years old, in an initiative that has for purpose to combine the practice of sport in young age, with life and respect for nature. Miranda Cup 2020 will have teams in the following categories: Under 10 (athletes born in 2010); Under 11 (athletes born in 2009); Under 12 (athletes born in 2008); and Under 13 (athletes born in 2007). “It is with great pleasure that Hospital da Luz Coimbra joins this event promoting healthy lifestyles for children and youngsters, and assuming the official medical services in Miranda Cup”, stated Pedro Beja Afonso, executive manager of this hospital unit . “The tournament will count with national and international teams, which, as in the previous editions, will have the opportunity to share experiences. Along the eight days of the tournament, players, coaches and families will have football as the common focus”, explains Edgar Marcelino, member of the organizing committee of the initiative , which promises to offer a unique youth football experience in Miranda do Corvo.
