Hospital da Luz Learning Health, the Luz Saúde company holding the group’s Centre of Training, Simulation, Research and Innovation , and Técnico+, from Instituto Superior Técnico, celebrated a protocol of collaboration for the development of advanced training initiatives in the areas of engineering, architecture and technology, in the scope of health education. To contribute for the development of highly qualified professionals up to date with new technologies, is the main goal of this partnership stressed by both institutions. In the scope of this partnership, formalized on June 26 this year, the first course has already been launched – Artificial Intelligence and Data Science applied to Health . The first edition, in 2019, aroused great interest, and a second edition is planned to start on November 18 this year ending on December 17. “The area of health is extremely important in our society and the pandemics we are still living in further accentuated its considerable value. Therefore, it is essential to have qualified professionals that are up to date with new technologies in their different areas of activity, from data science to radiologic protection”, explains the executive director of Técnico+, Tiago Guerra. “The partnership between Técnico+ and Hospital da Luz aims to ensure the training and technical learning in the area of health. We want to ensure that these professionals have access to quality knowledge, which will allow them to keep up to date with new technologies and have a better professional performance”, he adds. “Health care providing is ever more complex and challenging for its professionals, who are required to constantly enlarge their knowledge in areas less and less conventional, in a true team work with professionals from other areas, and always with the goal of providing the best service to the patient”, states, on the other hand, Francisca Leite, the director of Hospital da Luz Learning Health. “It is with great pride that we view this partnership with Técnico+, which allows us to offer a better technical knowledge to our professionals in key areas for the future of medicine and health care providing”, she further highlights.
