The separation of circuits for COVID and non-COVID patients was one of the first measures adopted at HLL, ensured by a thorough screening of all those entering the premises of the hospital. With the resuming of clinical activity and not having yet overcome the pandemic situation of COVID-19, it is fundamental the compliance of all the control and safety measures adopted, reminded António Nunes. «It continues to be fundamental the compliance of the basic infection control precautions, namely concerning hands sanitation: more than ever, it is essential to observe scrupulously every moment of hands sanitation and also the rational and adequate use of the personal protective equipment» , states the specialist, further adding: «The use of a surgical mask is universal and should be maintained throughout the whole presence in the hospital premises, and also eye protection for professionals when approaching the patient» .
