Since the COVID-19 pandemic mitigation phase was declared at 00:00 on March 26, there are no longer SNS reference hospitals for COVID-19 patients and the entire national health system has been involved in fighting this national health crisis. Accordingly, and in compliance with the instructions of the national health authorities, namely the Direção-Geral da Saúde, Luz Saúde reorganized its services to make Hospital da Luz Lisboa available to receive COVID-19 patients from the SNS, always maintaining its normal activity for all your customers and non-COVID-19 patients. The Ministério da Saúde decided, however, that the costs associated with COVID-19 patients hospitalized in private units are, after all, not covered by the SNS. Luz Saúde wants to make it clear that the institutional misunderstandings that may have resulted from this will in no way affect patients admitted to this date, who will not have to bear the respective costs. At the same time, we inform that Hospital da Luz Lisboa continues to have full capacity to care for COVID-19 patients, including pregnant women who are already being followed in this Hospital. In case of doubt, these patients should contact their attending physician at Rede Hospital da Luz or call Luz 24 - 217 104 424 - and follow the instructions given. We warn, however, that it is important for clients who come to seek our services because of this pathology to inform their subsystems and insurance companies about the respective conditions of reimbursement. Multicare, belonging to the Fidelidade Group, has already guaranteed its insured coverage of care in private hospitals for COVID-19, even though they have not been referred by the SNS. Finally, we inform that the Hospital da Luz network is functioning normally, maintaining its care offer prepared to receive its clients, with special attention to all those who need surveillance and monitoring of their chronic illness.
