With regard to the news published today, September 10, in the Público newspaper, and reproduced by other media, Luz Saúde clarifies that: Hospital da Luz Lisboa's maternity hospital continues to accompany its pregnant women and perform all deliveries, without exception, having created its own separate circuits, in the event of a positive COVID-19 situation. In the other maternities of the Luz Saúde Group, the restructuring of the Hospital da Luz Network, determined in March 2020 and approved by the DGS, which defined HL Lisboa as a COVID hospital, is carried out, with pregnant women from other maternities and positive for the disease referred for HL Lisboa. In these units, there is a response capacity for emergency deliveries; so far there has been no such situation. It was also not necessary to refer any of the pregnant women monitored in our units out due to COVID-19. The number of births in the maternity hospitals of the Rede Hospital da Luz has seen substantial growth in recent months. It should be noted, for example, that at the Hospital da Luz Lisboa the number of babies born in April and in May was the highest since its opening in 2007, and that at the maternity ward of the Hospital da Luz Vila Real the number of births grew about 60% compared to that seen in 2019.
