The presentation by Teresa Padrão , Oncology intern at Hospital da Luz Lisboa , received the 2 nd prize for best oral communication at the 15 th National Congress of Digestive Cancer , which took place from October 10 to 12, in Albufeira. In the research “Perfil Genómico e Cancro do Pâncreas – experiência de um centro” (“Genomic Profile and Pancreatic Cancer – one center experience”) pancreatic cancer samples were analyzed on the Foundation One platform (a complementary diagnostic exam of NGC - next generation sequencing). This research is an experimental contribution in an illness still little studied with this methodology. At the same congress, Luísa Leal da Costa , Oncology intern from Hospital Beatriz Ângelo , also gave an oral presentation on the prognostic value of CA19.9 (a serum glycoprotein) in patients with resectable pancreatic adenocarcinoma.
