Hospital da Luz Lisboa opened, on May 4 th , a new area reserved exclusively to consultations in the Service of Orthopaedics and Traumatology , directed by the specialist and professor Paulo Rego . The new space, integrating 10 consultation rooms, two treatment rooms and several support offices, is the realization of a long desired project with the purpose of providing a more effective answer to our clients. With a capacity to perform annually over 60 thousand consultations and 3 thousand surgeries , the new external consultation area of Orthopaedics is situated on ground 0, building B, close to the Imaging Service . In the first day of activity, around 180 consultations were made, from a total of 500 programmed for this first week of activity in these new premises. The Service of Orthopaedics and Traumatology from Hospital da Luz Lisboa is prepared to provide all the necessary medical and surgical care to children, youths and adults with diseases in the locomotor system. To prevent COVID-19, we have adopted even more rigorous procedures, guaranteeing the protection of our health professionals and clients. We count with a team of orthopaedists with vast training and experience, available to answer timely and effectively to the demands of any disease in the locomotor system. In its attending activity, the Service of Orthopaedics and Traumatology keeps a close collaboration with the other services and departments, in particular with Internal Medicine, Rheumatology, Paediatrics, Oncology and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
