The latest survey conducted in Portugal concluded that there are approximately 1.4 million informal caretakers , who deal daily with huge emotional, economic and social challenges. The association “Cuidadores” (caretakers), that works in behalf of caretakers and former caretakers, is one of the institutions chosen by Luz Saúde to support in the context of program “20 Years, 20 Causes” , which marks the celebration of our 20 th anniversary. Last November 12, Hospital da Luz Arrábida (Luz Saúde unit located in Vila Nova de Gaia) delivered to association “Cuidadores”, personal protective equipment and other material – namely, disposable gowns, shoe covers, surgical masks and hand sanitizer – necessary to the activity of the association. This visit also allowed Luz Saúde to find out more about the work developed by “Cuidadores”. Association “Cuidadores”: Is a non-profit association founded in 2016, in Porto.
