António Setúbal , director of the obstetrics and gynecology department at Hospital da Luz Lisboa and one of the world’s foremost medical authorities in endometriosis , chaired the most important and prestigious global congress on gynecology and minimally invasive surgery at the beginning of February. ENDO Dubai 2026 was held in Dubai from February 5 to 7 and gathered hundreds of specialists from around the world to share knowledge, innovation, and scientific excellence related to endometriosis and minimally invasive surgery. The Hospital da Luz specialist and president of ENDO Dubai 2026 opened the congress with a lecture whose title immediately drew attention — “Videoendoscopy: A Movie History – From Movies to Laparoscopy” — in which he explored the evolution of moving images leading to modern laparoscopy. Under the theme “Beyond Surgical Boundaries: Shaping Excellence in Minimally Invasive Surgery,” this year’s Dubai congress offered hundreds of physicians, scientists, and industry representatives the opportunity to: attend live surgeries performed by world renowned experts in the field; participate in specialized training sessions on the latest surgical techniques; and learn about the most recent innovations, particularly in deep endometriosis and advanced visualization techniques. “ This is not just another medical event. It is a powerful experience designed to ignite ideas, sharpen skills, and build lasting connections. Whether you are a surgeon, specialist, resident, or healthcare leader, you will find unmatched opportunities to learn, collaborate, and grow, ” stated the ENDO Dubai 2026 website. This experience was confirmed by participants, including the members of the endometriosis team from Hospital da Luz Lisboa — Sónia Barata , Joana Faria , Filipa Osório and João Sequeira Alves — pictured with the Congress President and director of the HLL department, António Setúbal, at the center.
