Providing first-aid is fundamental until the arrival of a specialized medical team: every minute that passes counts towards reducing the victim's chances of survival. For this reason, Hospital da Luz Póvoa de Varzim will be holding another specific training session on First Aid for Motorcyclists on November 10, in response to the many requests received and the great support the initiative has received in previous years. This training session will be free of charge, but with limited registrations (see conditions below), and counts with the support of the North NCX’s bikers. It will be provided by nurses of this hospital’s Emergency Service, who will cover the following topics: First approach to the victim; Safety lateral position; Airway clearance manoeuvers; Basic Life Support (BLS) (simulator training); Bleeding and control techniques (including the use of a tourniquet); Motorcyclist's emergency card. It is essential to be trained in first-aid, being able to save lives and prevent irreversible damages. Throughout the morning, the participants will have the opportunity to acquire theoretical and practical knowledge on how to help a victim, until the arrival of a specialized medical team. Places on this course are limited. Sign up now!
