During December, babies born in the maternity ward of the Hospital da Luz Póvoa de Varzim wear a a wool 'boot' and hat purposely designed for this Christmas . The idea for this 'wrapping' suit for Christmas came from the Gynecology-Obstetrics physician Augusta Matos, and has been very well received by mothers and fathers to a ccommodate the best 'gifts' they could have this Christmas. Augusta Matos says that the idea came a year ago, when she saw photographs of babies with Christmas clothes on a website: “I thought it would be a loving way to welcome our babies ”. It was Ana Pinto, nurse in the operating room at Hospital da Luz Póvoa de Varzim, who sewed the first model, after which the hospital operationalized the production of the hats and boots in which our newborns now leave the delivery room. The Maternity Hospital of Luz Póvoa de Varzim is prepared to provide all the necessary care to mothers and newborn children, in complete safety. Visit us here . We wish all families a Merry Christmas!
