The Birth Prepararion Course will resume its face-to-face format, at the hospital, starting April the 6th 2022. It comprises 8 sessions, on a weekly basis, and can be taken after 28-30 weeks’ gestation by pregnant women that may or not be clinically followed at Hospital da Luz Lisboa. Preparation for birth is fundamental for future parents to learn how to respond in the different phases of pregnancy, in the time of birth and afterwards. This course of Hospital da Luz Lisboa aims to: Contribute to a safe and responsible experience of pregnancy and childbirth; Provide information for adequate preparation of the couple for maternity; Contribute to reducing the occurrence of problems during labour; Contribute to make delivery a rewarding experience for the couple. The Birth Prepararion Course is carried out by nurses, physiotherapists and doctors, for groups consisting of a minimum of 2 pregnant women and a maximum of 8 pregnant women. The sessions include various topics about pregnancy, childbirth and the puerperium (postpartum period).
