A group of entrepreneurs, physicians, researchers and other professionals related with the Health sector, in representation of the Luso-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce , visited the new Hospital da Luz Centro Clínico Digital , at Hospital da Luz Lisboa. The delegation of about thirty people, led by São Paulo neurologist, Jefferson Fernandes . also professor and entrepreneur in the area of telemedicine, was received by the Hospital’s executive director, Pedro Líbano Monteiro, and by the clinical director of the Digital Clinical Centre, cardiologist Daniel Ferreira, who did a detailed presentation of Grupo Luz Saúde video consultation project. The visit included a tour of the Digital Clinical Centre premises, in the new building of Hospital da Luz Lisboa, now benefiting from an exclusive space with 15 rooms for video consultation. The Brazilian delegation integrated a larger group of over 200 people, that participated in the WebSummit 2019, in Lisbon. Out of this extensive group, a subgroup of elements associated with the area of health was formed, the “Vertical Health Tech”, led by professor Jefferson Fernandes. “Hospital da Luz is a major example of how it is possible to use telemedicine , being quite advanced in the application of this new technology with quality and efficacy. Therefore, it is very important for us to learn about the solution here adopted – for it is a safe one, both for patients and physicians, and capable of being replicated. It will surely help to solve some of the essential problems in current health systems ”, stated the Brazilian neurologist, at the end of the visit. Fully functioning since 2018, Hospital da Luz Centro Clínico Digital is a service of Hospital da Luz network, that allows a better management of health, in a simple and intuitive way , avoiding unnecessary displacements to the hospital. Online medicine allows consultations with the physician from a distance (video consultation) and the recording of personal health data and measurements, enabling to follow-up the evolution of each clinical situation in an integrated way. The Digital Clinical Centre is available in the reserved personal area of the Patient Portal (accessible through Hospital da Luz Patient Portal or Hospital da Luz app). Presently, the Digital Clinical Centre from Hospital da Luz makes video consultations in about twenty specialties, such as cardiology, neurology, gastroenterology or anaesthesiology.
