Hospital da Luz Lisboa will celebrate the World Cancer Day (4 th February) with a session open to the general public, where different approaches in the fight against this disease will be discussed. The session will include a lecture by the chronicler and writer Marine Antunes, founder of the project “Cancer with humour” and co-author of the project “If you can dream, you can achieve”. “Nutrition and physiotherapy as allies in the fight against cancer” set the tone for the interventions in the areas of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Nutrition, which will be carried out by physiotherapist Ana Catarina Bernardo and nutritionist Cristina Gonçalves. Cancer is a common disease among the general population and, in the West, it is estimated that one out of three people will suffer from cancer over his life. All over the world, 9.6 million people die every year of cancer, and many of those deaths could be avoided with more programs of early detection, prevention and treatment. Raising awareness of the world population and mobilize everyone for the fight against cancer is the goal of the World Cancer Day , established on the 4 th February 2000, and which is celebrated every year on the initiative of the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC), that aggregates over a thousand associations and entities from all over the world, that work and have responsibilities in the area. We all have a role to play in this fight, in all sectors and across the board. Be present and attend the session! Date and schedule: 4 th February 2022, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Place: Hospital da Luz Lisboa (auditorium) and webinar platform Online registration (mandatory) Note: to attend in person, it is mandatory to show the digital certificate of vaccination (with the 3 rd dose/reinforcement dose received for more than two weeks before) or a negative COVID-19 test (PCR done in the previous 72 hours, professional antigen test done in the previous 48 hours, or antigen self-test done on site, gratuitously).
