Starting this September 1, the members and staff of Clube Desportivo da Póvoa/Basketball benefit from special conditions in a range of clinical services provided by Hospital da Luz Póvoa de Varzim , namely: 20% discount in Emergency consultations; Sports physical examination (22,5€); 20% discount in consultations and treatments of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. These benefits (non-cumulative with other health agreements or insurances) were stipulated in a protocol signed on July 31, by which Hospital da Luz Póvoa de Varzim also became the official medical provider of CDP/Basketball , ensuring the personalized clinical follow-up of its athletes. This initiative is integrated in the strategy of Hospital da Luz Póvoa de Varzim to support and promote healthy life practices near the population it serves. CDP/Basketball is now competing to qualify for the professional league of the modality (Placard League). The matches, against the team of Associação Académica de Coimbra/Basketball – that counts with Hospital da Luz Coimbra as official medical provider – are scheduled for the upcoming 11 and 13 September. The winner will be determined by the sum of points conquered in both games.
