The Little Doll Hospital , an initiative of the Medical Students’ Center of University of Minho and aimed at children , will take place on December 10 at Hospital da Luz Guimarães, with a special mood appropriate for the Christmas season . In this ‘make-believe hospital’ the whole clinical process is recreated, from diagnosis to treatment, including steps such as consultation, complementary exams, surgery and pharmacy. The ultimate goal is for the younger ones to lose the ‘fear of the white coat’ that so many manifest during consultations and exams. In order to achieve this, parents are invited to bring their children with a doll – for instance, a teddy bear – which will be the ‘patient’ in need of care of this special hospital. To recreate the clinical pathway will be students of Medicine and Nursing of the University of Minho , with the collaboration of colleagues of Basic Education. The presence of pre-school students from Colégio do Ave, Colégio Nossa Senhora da Conceição and EB1/J.I. Mascotelos is already scheduled. But all children are welcome , provided they are accompanied by a guardian. Participate and bring your children! Date and time: December 10, 9 am to 7 pm (lunch break) Location: Hospital da Luz Guimarães, floor 0 (inpatient reception area)
