Colorectal cancer (colon and rectum) is the second oncologic disease that most affects the Portuguese and is, however, one of the easiest to prevent. Therefore, within the scope of the activities that it regularly develops to promote health in the community , Hospital da Luz Setúbal will hold, on September 30th, at Livramento Market, an awareness-raising action on the need for colorectal cancer prevention. The initiative, aimed at general population, results from a partnership with the Health Office of the Setúbal City Council. On this day, at the central area of the Livramento market, those interested will find a hospital team – consisting of a doctor, a nurse and a nutritionist – available to provide all the information on: The main risk factors of colorectal cancer; Warning signs; And the reccomended periodic screening tests.
