Hospital da Luz Póvoa de Varzim supported another edition of “Os Dias no Parque” (Days in the Park), the major cultural and social initiative in the district, which attracted thousands of people to the City Park. Between the 7 th and 10 th June, our nursing team carried out around 500 free health screening tests , and together with the Voluntary Firemen provided first aid whenever necessary, thus ensuring the safety of the event. Organized by the Póvoa de Varzim City Council, the initiative views to promote social cohesion in the district, through activities that bring the population closer to the around 90 local associations operating in the areas of sports, culture and social solidarity. This year’s edition attracted once more crowds of people and the program did not disappoint, with performances by local groups of musicians, dancers and gymnasts, among others, besides major concerts every night, moments of circus art throughout the day, inflatable playgrounds and entertainment for children and adults. Lu, Hospital da Luz mascot, was once again present in this great event, contributing for the joy of young and old alike, and passing around hugs, selfies and gifts. The Hospital da Luz team included nurses Ana Novo, Bruna Atilano, Bruno Brandão, Carla Silva, Catarina Marques, Inês Dantas, Joana Moutinho, Luís Azevedo, Laeticia Soares, Paula Ponte, Paulo Alves, Raquel Abrunhosa, Ricardo Gomes (the coordinator), and Teresa Queirós, besides administrative staff Catarina Cristelo, Patrícia Barros and Sara Viana. Hospital da Luz Póvoa de Varzim thanks the municipality for the opportunity to join once again this annual event , so remarkable for local inhabitants and visitors from neighbouring districts. This is yet another way to promote the health and welfare of the population.
