Hospital da Luz Póvoa de Varzim ensured clinical assistance during the EMRC SpringFest ’25, that took place last May 15, at Parque da Cidade. The annual event where the Braga Archdiocese gathers middle school students and teachers to celebrate Moral and Religious Catholic Education, has beaten all participation and activity records, involving around 11,500 people. The Hospital da Luz medical center on-site was equipped and prepared to respond promptly to the needs of participants, including Basic Life Support. Nine health professionals were present on a permanent basis (a doctor, nurses, and emergency medical technicians). The team counted with the support of Póvoa de Varzim Volunteer Firefighters and one emergency vehicle. Around 70 clinical support requests were answered, mostly minor sprains and abrasions. The festival included multiple activities, some of reflection and spiritual development, some other around sports and culture, namely tennis, padel and paintball, music events and DJ sets. Lu, the Hospital da Luz mascot, also helped animating this 4 th edition of the EMRC Spring Fest, which was organized in partnership with the Póvoa municipality. Hospital da Luz thanks the Braga Archdiocese and Póvoa de Varzim City Hall for the invitation to participate in the major event that is the EMRC SpringFest. This way we promote not only the sense of citizenship, but also health and welfare. And whenever the community so requests, we are there!
