The Hospital da Luz Lisboa indoor garden hosts until March 31 the exhibition “Bomb Shadows: Hiroshima – Nagasaki” – a thematic show gathering posters, photographs and drawings on the devastation caused by the atomic bombs in those two Japanese cities, by the end of World War II, in the 20 th century. This exhibition happens in the context of a partnership with the Portuguese Catholic University aiming to give visibility to cultural projects that challenge us to build a better world through art. The exhibition was lent by the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum, and it shows us the impact of the atomic bombs dropped over 80 years ago (in August 1945). “Bomb Shadows: Hiroshima – Nagasaki” comprises two sections: A collection of 30 posters depicting the damage caused by the atomic bombings. A collection of drawings and paintings ( “A-Bomb Drawings by Survivors” ), from 1974-1975 and 2002, made by people living in Hiroshima, which are a valuable testimony of the devastation left by the nuclear weapons. If you have the chance, come to Hospital da Luz Lisboa and visit this impressive exhibition.
