The Fresenius Kabi Award of Clinical Nutrition was granted, this year, to two researchers from Hospital Beatriz Ângelo (HBA): Ana Moura Gonçalves , specialist of Intensive Medicine in the Unit of Intensive Care (UCI), and Marília Cravo , specialist in Gastroenterology. They have both developed a study in HBA UCI on micronutrients in critical patients. The award was delivered on November 10, at HBA, in a ceremony presided by António Sousa Guerreiro, president of the jury that evaluated the applications, and counting with the presence of Artur Vaz and Edgar Almeida, executive manager and clinical director of the hospital, respectively. The Fresenius Kabi annual award of Clinical Nutrition, one of the most prestigious in the area, was created in 2001 by Fresenius Kabi Pharma, and it is destined to recognize and distinguish works of basic and clinical research in the area of nutrition. This was the 18 th edition of the award , which counts with the collaboration of the Portuguese Association of Enteral and Parenteral Nutrition (APNEP). The two researchers received five thousand euros, the maximum prize in the category of works concluded. Also present in the ceremony were Lino Mendes, member of APNEP’s direction board and member of the award’s jury, besides several representatives of Fresenius Kabi Portugal.
