With the arrival of cold weather, comes a rise in respiratory infections and in the doubts of parents on how to protect and care for children in this time of the year. To help families prepare the best way possible, Hospital da Luz Arrábida will hold the workshop “Preparing winter for the little ones” , next November 23. The session will be free – although subject to previous registration – and oriented by Paediatrics professionals , who will share useful guidance for the day to day of parents and other caretakers. Along the workshop, essential topics will be approached, namely: Nasal wash (when and how to do it, which solutions to use, and what are the benefits to prevent colds and respiratory infections). Use of inhalers (with practical demonstration of the correct use of such devices to administer inhaled medication. Nebulization (advantages and disadvantages of this method and in which situations it is really necessary to resort to it). Sleeping position (advice on the best positions to facilitate breathing and ensure comfort and safety to children while sleeping). This will be a moment of knowledge sharing and proximity, thought to support parents and caretakers in the preparation of winter, reinforcing the commitment of Hospital da Luz Arrábida with education for health and the welfare of families.
