Hospital da Luz Clínica do Caniço opens its doors to the local community next March 17 , for all those who may wish to know better its health services and clinical professionals. Those interested in participating in this initiative must register in advance. In this open day , the team of Family and General Medicine, coordinated by specialis Igor Fábio Gonçalves , will be available to carry out free cardiovascular and cancer screenings for people over 50 years old . The Clinic's nursing team will also be available to perform free health screenings – assessing indicators such as cholesterol, glycaemia, blood pressure and pulse. General and Family Medicine is one of the specialties involved in primary healthcare. It is dedicated to the long-term follow-up of people’s health, in all age groups. Therefore, the physicians in this speciality have a proximal relationship and a detailed knowledge of their patients’ health, playing a fundamental role in the promotion of health and the prevention of diseases.
