Ten employees of Hospital da Luz Coimbra (HLC), auxiliary technicians of medical action and administrative services, carried out, in a working environment , the Qualifica Program of the Professional School (EP) Beira Aguieira . This program lasted about six months, was carried out in partnership with the EP Beira Aguieira school and included RVCC training (Recognition, Validation and Certification of Skills). “The Qualifica Program is a program dedicated to the qualification of adults, which aims to improve levels of education and training, contributing to improving the qualification levels of the population and increasing employability”, explains Teresa Matos, director of EP Beira Aguieira, adding: “It is a program based on a qualification strategy, integrating educational and training responses and various instruments, which promote the effective qualification of adults and which involves a wide network of operators”. “Challenge and achievement are the right words to describe my experience in this path of recognition, validation and certification of skills”, says Carolina Cunha, an administrative technician at Hospital da Luz Coimbra and a student of the Qualifica Programme, for whom this program appears as “a launching pad for the conclusion of a stage in my life, a stage that, unfortunately, I was forced to postpone a few years ago. The opportunity was given to me by the employer, who, in addition to showing me the advantages of this process, also motivated and facilitated me in all stages of training”. Another of the students, Adelaide Rodrigues, an auxiliary technician, highlighted the importance of this opportunity: “This initiative by the Hospital is to be commended, by encouraging employees to complete their school training and giving us all the necessary conditions and motivating them. us to be more successful personally and professionally”. For Pedro Beja Afonso, administrator of Hospital da Luz Coimbra, the possibility of providing this learning to employees “is part of one of the principles of our Hospital, by investing in the continuous training of our employees, supporting their qualification and allowing them to evolve in their careers. For various reasons, some of our employees were unable to complete their training and we are pleased to be able to give them this opportunity, in the workplace and with all the necessary conditions, to finish school and acquire more skills. This initiative is also part of our social responsibility policy, in which we facilitate access to quality education and make the community aware of the importance of training, favoring the well-being of the team and providing opportunities for personal and professional growth”. Escola Profissional Beira Aguieira is a certified school with many years of experience in training and professional courses. This project, which is developed within the scope of the Qualifica Center, is certified by the regulatory authority ANQEP and operates in certification at school and professional level in various areas. For Teresa Matos, the fact that Hospital da Luz Coimbra offered this course to its employees “represents the recognition of the work carried out and the appreciation of the effort and dedication of the professionals involved in the school, as well as the recognition of the quality of the training provided by we offered. We hope that this partnership will continue to open doors for future opportunities for personal and professional growth for the Hospital's employees, as well as strengthening the relationship between the two institutions”. Created 33 years ago, EP Beira Aguieira is a successful reference in the educational and training process. Intervening and inducing changes in the community, it develops social skills and seeks innovation and change in the concept of quality in teaching. The school tries to provide an increasingly wide audience with a differentiating practice, contributing to the Education and Training of young people and adults on a platform of cooperation with other entities and, simultaneously, seeking to respond to the needs and interests of the social, economic, and business fabric.
