Hospital da Luz Clínica da Figueira da Foz ensured the clinical assistance in the third edition of Figueira Champions Classic, the cycling competition held last weekend in this district. Assuming the official medical services of the event, Hospital da Luz had available a team of doctors and nurses. On Saturday, over a thousand cyclists participated in Granfondo and Mediofondo of Figueira Champions Day, covering the 14 parishes of Figueira da Foz district. Children have also had the opportunity to participate in this great celebration of cycling, in the Kids Day event. On Sunday, a few of the top world teams tackled the course of the International Classic UCI ProSeries. On the road, there was an international peloton of 10 World Teams, 4 Pro Teams and 9 Portuguese teams, in a total of 23 teams. António Morgado (UAE Team Emirates) was the winner of this third edition, being the first Portuguese cyclist to conquer this classic competition of Figueira. The Hospital da Luz clinical team was set up near the start and finishing lines, providing assistance to athletes whenever necessary, and counting with the support of Figueira da Foz Volunteer Firefighters. Lu, the Hospital da Luz mascot, was also present in the two days of the competition, making the delights of children and adults. Hospital da Luz thanks the organization for the opportunity to participate in the initiative.
