Hospital da Luz Clínica da Covilhã assumed the official sponsorship of Associação Desportiva do Fundão (ADF) – Futsal . Under the agreement recently established between the two institutions, athletes can count with the most advanced complementary means of diagnosis, consultations and specialty exams, and a clinical team of recognized quality, available at the clinic. “This partnership allows us to support the ADF-Futsal teams, contributing to the practice of sport in all safety and to the promotion of healthy life habits”, stated Pedro Beja Afonso, the Hospital da Luz Clínica da Covilhã administrator. “It is with great satisfaction that we now establish this partnership with Hospital da Luz, which is a symbol of quality. In this clinic, our athletes have access to the best professionals and equipment”, declared Rui Quelhas, the president of ADF-Futsal. Created in 1955, Desportiva do Fundão is one of the most representative teams in the Beira Interior region, providing its associates practice and competition in several sport modalities, such as track and field, basketball, cycling, volleyball, handball, judo, roller hockey, football, swimming and ping-pong. In recent years, it achieved greater projection in futsal, initiated in 2001, being district champion in that same year. The team competes presently in the Placard League, gaining prestige and recognition, and assumes itself as a major reference of the modality in Portugal. Hospital da Luz Clínica da Covilhã is a private health unit, belonging to Luz Saúde Group, that opened its doors in March this year. The new clinic with Hospital da Luz brand is located in Covilhã’s largest avenue, near the Serra Shopping, and offers, in one place, professional excellence, convenience in terms of schedule, and state-of-the-art technology, thus trying to meet the health needs of the local population and establishing itself as an ambulatory centre of reference in the region.
