After the opening of Hospital da Luz Clínica da Ria, in Aveiro, on May 28, Luz Saúde takes another step with the opening on July 16 of a clinic in Leiria – thus presently counting with twelve units in the Centro region, within the Aveiro, Coimbra and Leiria districts. But “more than growing in number, the goal is to grow with a purpose responding to the actual needs of the populations and anticipating the challenges in medicine”, as stated by Pedro Beja Afonso, the Hospital da Luz manager in the Centro region, in an interview to the daily newspaper “As Beiras”. Luz Saúde expansion in the Centro region results from a medium- and long-term strategic vision “to be closer to the population and offer at the same time a differentiated and robust range of healthcare, always operating in a network logic and aiming to ensure high quality standards” , further explains the administrator. This real regional network has Hospital da Luz Coimbra as "reference centre”, ensuring “extended coverage and an integrated response to the different health needs, offering accessibility, clinical differentiation, continuity of care, and notably clinical safety”, he also points out. “The way these units operate articulated in a network allows clients access to the most adequate level of healthcare, in the right place and at the right time. Also quite relevant is the sharing of clinical staff in the different units offering clinical consistency not always easy to achieve”, he stresses. The secret behind the “systematic growing” of Hospital da Luz network in the Centro region lies in this distinctive offer at the level of assistance and client experience. “There is an increasingly demanding and informed population that values speed of access, assistance quality, individual choice, and integrated health solutions. In that sense, we see room to continue growing, always with responsibility and focus on the creation of value in health”, he concludes.
