Hospital da Luz was once again a partner of the Cidade Berço Half Marathon, which took place on October 5th in the main streets of Guimarães, between the castle and the D. Afonso Henriques stadium. The runners had the support of the physiotherapists from Hospital da Luz Guimarães and our mascot, Lu, was also there to help with the great party that is always this competition. This year's Cidade Berço Half Marathon saw a new record turnout: more than 5,000 people ran or walked through the heart of Guimarães! Organized by Guimarães City Council in collaboration with Tempo Livre, Vitória Sport Clube and the Braga Athletics Association, the competition was divided into five races: Half-marathon (21 km); Vitória Mini-Marathon (10 km); 5 km race; Solidarity walk (5km); Run Kids (400m, for children between 5 and 12 years old). The participating athletes had the support of our physiotherapists Sara Martins, Ana Sofia Geraldes, Diana Henriques and João Duarte Silva (above, in the photo) . Hospital da Luz couldn't miss such a special sporting event and thanks the organizers for inviting us to take part in this initiative again. Supporting institutions and sporting events is a precious tool for fulfilling one of our missions: to promote healthy lifestyle habits and prevent disease, which includes practicing sport safely.
