The Hospital da Luz Lisboa Echocardiography Laboratory renewed accreditation by the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging (EACVI) for all modalities of echocardiography, namely transthoracic, transesophageal, and effort / stress echocardiography. The new accreditation represents, once again, the acknowledgement of our service quality and is a guarantee for our clients of quality excellence standards in the exams performed. Our laboratory has the capacity to carry out echocardiograms across the entire spectrum of clinical indications – including diagnosis, assessment, and guidance in surgical and percutaneous therapeutic interventions for complex cardiovascular pathologies – both in elective and urgent context. Considering the specificities of the Cardiology Service, we highlight exams performed in cases of: Valve disease; Myocardiopathy; Coronary artery disease; Oncocardiology; Sports cardiology. The integration of advanced echocardiography with other imaging techniques and interventional and clinical cardiology valences available at Hospital da Luz Lisboa allows us to ensure the best care to our clients. The team now accredited by EACVI includes cardiologists Hélder Dores (the coordinator), Afonso Félix de Oliveira , Alexandra Ramos , Alexandra Toste , Christopher Strong , Francisco Albuquerque , Francisco Gama , Inês Ricardo , José Monge , Júlia Toste , Maria Salomé Carvalho , Marisa Trabulo , Milan Satendra , Pedro Custódio , Regina Ribeiras , Vanda Carmelo and technicians Adelaide Almeida, Mariana Ferreira, Tânia Martins and Teresa Santos. The EACVI – organism of the European Society of Cardiology that has for purpose the promotion of excellence in diagnosis, research, and technical development in cardiovascular imaging – is a world-leading entity in the area, gathering over 8,000 professionals.
