For the 3rd consecutive year, Hospital da Luz Póvoa de Varzim (HLPV) offered hospital supplies to the Association of Lifeguards of Póvoa de Varzim-Vila do Conde, to equip vehicles that provide aid on beaches, swimming pools and river beaches in the region and which are essential in supporting and assisting bathers. Among the materials offered, there are boxes with gloves, serum, disinfectant, analgesic spray, compresses, bandages and adhesives. The delivery of the supplies took place on July 22nd and was attended by the director of lifeguard training, João Pinheiro, as well as the executive director and general director of the Hospital, Sérgio Viana and Pedro Linhares, respectively. Hospital da Luz's relationship with this Association began in 2022, through the signing of a protocol that provides special conditions for members in the services provided by the hospital. In 2023, in addition to hospital supplies, a defibrillator device (AED) was also offered to equip one of the lifeguard vehicles. As in other cases, Hospital da Luz's objective is to be close to and serve the community in which it operates, supporting the promotion of health and safety of its populations. The Association members must inform themselves of the conditions of the protocol with the respective administrative services.
