Hospital da Luz, official medical services provider of Vitória Futebol Clube (VFC) and Casa Pia Atlético Clube, sponsored the match between the two clubs last January 12, for the quarter finals of the Portugal Football Cup, in Bonfim Stadium. Vitória has already conquered the Portugal Cup three times and participated in other seven finals, but this time it was Casa Pia that made history: it won by 1-0 (goal scored by Yan Brice Eteki, at 3 minutes) and advanced, for the first time, to the quarter finals of the competition. Before the start of the match, in the vicinity of the stadium, fans from both clubs were challenged by Lu, the Hospital da Luz mascot, to take pictures and many of them received a scarf of their respective club (Casa Pia or Vitória) and Hospital da Luz, with the line “Saúde de Campeão” (The Health of a Champion). It was a thrill for all the children and many adults too. This was the first time the two clubs which have Hospital da Luz as official medical service provider (VFC since 2016 and Casa Pia since this football season, 2022/2023) faced each other off. For Hospital da Luz, these partnerships are a source of great pride: they prepare the athletes for competition and help promote sport and healthy life styles.
