Hospital da Luz Funchal celebrated a partnership with Académico Clube Desportivo do Funchal. Under this agreement, Hospital da Luz will provide medical support to athletes, thus contributing to a safe practice of sport, and the promotion of healthy lifestyles. Académico Clube Desportivo do Funchal: Has its origin in the parish of Fátima, Funchal, on the 1 st February 1971, when the priest in charge gathered young people interested in the practice of different sport modalities, thus founding the sports club, Académico Clube Desportivo de Fátima; Years later, arises the Académico do Funchal, which becomes a sports club mostly associated with handball, originating the two sports limited societies (SAD), still competing today at national level; Counts presently with around 150 athletes, 11 officials and 10 trainers, with a focus on training people and athletes for the future. “ This partnership with Hospital da Luz Funchal can be summed up in a few words: efficacy, support, sympathy, trust and professionalism ”, highlights João Vieira, the president of Académico do Funchal. “ Working with Hospital da Luz Funchal conveys our club security, in terms of health follow-up, prevention of lesions, treatment and recovery of athletes.
