Hundreds of athletes and fans of walking participated, on September 10, in this 6 th edition of Vila Real Half-Marathon. The initiative, that has become a tradition in the city at this time of the year, counted with the support of Hospital da Luz, which ensured clinical and nursing assistance to the participants in the three events: the half-marathon (21 km), the mini-marathon (7 km) and the walk (5 km). Rui Muga, from Clube Atlético de Macedo de Cavaleiros (with a time of 1h 9m 24s) and Beatriz Alves from Furfor Running Project (1h 23m 45s) were the winners in the half-marathon. Luís Saraiva from Sporting de Braga (21m 38s) and Verónica José from Sporting Clube de Portugal (30m 19s) were the winners in the mini-marathon. The revenue from the registrations in the events – organized in partnership by the City Hall and Vila Real Athletics Association – reverted to the benefit of the Portuguese League Against Cancer (Vila Real delegation). The Hospital da Luz team comprised nurses Catarina Maltez, Diana Nogueira and Tânia Guedes. Hospital da Luz Vila Real congratulates all the participants. The practice of physical exercise is fundamental to promote welfare and good health . And whenever the community calls, we are there!
