Hospital da Luz supported the 63 rd edition of São Silvestre running event around the city of Funchal, which took place last 28 December. The oldest São Silvestre Running in the country, and for many the most awaited event, went through the main streets of the city of Funchal, along a course of precisely 5,850 meters. The 2022 edition counted with over 3,300 participants, from 24 countries. Organized by the Athletics Association of Madeira, in partnership with the Funchal Municipality, the event was dedicated to the fight against domestic violence. In the end, Rui Pinto, from Sporting Clube de Portugal, and Joana Soares, from Jardim da Serra, were the big winners in their respective categories (men and women). In the context of the protocol established with the Athletics Association of Madeira, Hospital da Luz Funchal provided the clinical support to the event, with a team comprising two nurses. The running also counted with the participation of a team from Hospital da Luz Funchal, including several collaborators.
