Hospital da Luz Clínica do Caniço celebrated on December 13 a protocol with Grupo Recreativo Cruzado Canicense. The agreement provides a reinforcement of the medical support to the club’s athletes competing in football, from under 12 to senior teams. “The practise of sport is fundamental for a healthier life and the prevention of disease. Practising sport in safety is also a goal of Hospital da Luz, hence the establishment of partnerships with dozens of sports clubs and associations”, as stressed Carlota Cavaco, director general of this Hospital da Luz unit in Madeira. This agreement with Cruzado Canicense, she added, was celebrated in a perspective of support to regional clubs and teams, also taking into account the proximity between the two institutions. Alexio Silva, president of Cruzado Canicense, stated on his turn that the club will now be “ready to face the challenges of this season with even greater determination. Football goes beyond the playing field. It is a thread connecting people, communities, and dreams. With the support of Hospital da Luz Clínica do Caniço, we will have even better conditions to fight for our goals and continuing honouring the shirt we wear.” Founded in 1938, Grupo Recreativo Cruzado Canicense is a club of the town of Caniço, district of Santa Cruz, Madeira. On the same occasion, the new equipment to be worn by athletes in the different competitions of the season, from U-12 to seniors, was presented. Sport is for everyone, at all ages, and counts with the large support of Hospital da Luz .
