Hospital da Luz Clínica de Santa Maria da Feira supports the third edition of São Silvestre running event, which will take place next December 3, at 9 p.m., in the city of Santa Maria da Feira. About a thousand athletes are enrolled to participate in the event, organized by the track and field section of Clube Desportivo Feirense. Open to federated and non-federate athletes (from junior category up), the Hospital da Luz/Santa Maria da Feira São Silvestre Running will consist of two events: The 10 km-running race; The 5 km-walking – a solidary walk, with revenues reverting to Irmãs Passionistas de Santa Maria da Feira, an institution acknowledged by its work of support to children. The practice of sport and the concern for the health and welfare of the population are among the goals of the São Silvestre running event, apart from providing moments of fun and socializing. Therefore, Hospital da Luz could not fail to support this initiative, which falls in line with its strategy of intervention near the community, encouraging physical activity and the adoption of healthy lifestyles, as a means to promote health and prevent disease.
