Hospital da Luz Póvoa de Varzim and Varzim Sport Club celebrated a new protocol, extending the cooperation between the two institutions initiated in 2012 , thus reinforcing the commitment to promote the practice of sport in all safety. The agreement establishes: Support extended to the about 600 athletes of the club, with ages between 3 to 25 years old, that will now benefit from even more advantageous conditions in health services provided by the hospital; Physiotherapy treatments for athletes of the senior team, which will also be able to resort to the physiotherapy service of Hospital da Luz Póvoa de Varzim, that has all the equipment necessary for a quick recovery, soon to be renovated and expanded; The delivery to the club’s clinical team of the hospital material necessary for providing first aid along the sporting season. The new protocol of cooperation was signed by Sérgio Viana and Pedro Linhares, respectively the administrator and director-general of Hospital da Luz Póvoa de Varzim, and the president of Varzim Sport Club, Edgar da Silva Pinho, and the vice-presidents Luís Suárez de Oliveira and Miguel Ângelo Marques. The ceremony took place in the club’s stadium and counted with the special presence of the mascots from both institutions, Lu and Tarrote.
